Hey Commuters!
Its that time of year again... winter. Whether you love winter or hate winter, none of us can avoid it. Quite frankly, the only option is to be as prepared as possible for it. As commuters, we really feel the affects of harsh winter weather when we wait on our bus, train, or other forms of transportation. Cold hands, ringing ears, or frozen toes - I think we've all been there. So as your commuter fairy godmother I have listed a few options for you that may be helpful :)
First Things First: Essentials
Everyone tolerates the cold differently but here are some essentials I think everyone should try to have
- Jacket and sweaters
- Gloves/mittens
- Socks (thermal is a great option for winter)
- Winter hat or toque
- Earmuffs
- Scarf
Affordable options:
Personally, I believe Dollarama offers cheap and effective winter essentials - and it practically has almost everything you need. Gloves, thermal socks, hats, and scarves are all available at Dollarama for under four dollars each!
Dont sleep on thrifting! Not only is thrifting fun but nothing beats the rewarding feeling of getting your essentials and such an affordable price! Here is a list of thrift stores downtown:
1. Just Thrift
2. Market By the Pound
3. Vintage Depot
4. Retro Head's
5. Uncle Vintage
6. Black Market Clothing
7. Value Village
8. The Salvation Army Thrift Store
Fashion Lovers:
While the affordable options are also fashionable, perhaps you want something that caters to your individual style - No problem!! I've listed blogs, websites, and retailers that have great options.
I hope that information was helpful!
