Discounts on groceries:

  • Check out Save.ca's deals on groceries: https://www.save.ca/deals/categories/grocery/12

  • Metro: Students get 10% off on select days depending on what city they're in. For example, students can get a discount at some Toronto locations every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. So, save money on your weekly grocery shop just by showing your student ID at checkout.

  • Bulkbarn – 10% on Wednesdays: On Wednesdays with a valid student ID, bulkbarn offers 10% off your purchase. Not only can you get candies, but it is a great place to get baking supplies, rice and pasta

  • No Frills No Frills often has more affordable prices and great sales. There are various locations around the city – check out their flyers to find great deals!

  • FreschCo Groceries: This grocery store has some of the best deals next to No Frills. Prices are extremely student-friendly. Find out if there is a location near you!

  • Get a SPC card!

  • PC ultimum card: You'll find one at your local Loblaws, Metro, Shoppers and more! The PC ultimatum card allows you to collect points and save on groceries.

  • H-Mart: For your East-Asian grocery needs! Grab a quick bite (their Gimbap is a personal favourite), or stock up on your choice of Ramen, Dumplings, snacks and Aloe Juice (plug!) I do also recommend checking out Galleria Supermarket, or a PC store for offers on Asian grocery items.

  • Cabbagetown South Asian supermarkets - Ambal Trading (591 Parliament St.) and Surma Supermarket (330 1/2 Parliament) for your South-Asian groceries! You'll find fruits, vegetables and meat at a great price, and your choice of dosa batter, spices, and snacks!
